  • 5 Cups Flour
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Yeast
  • 2 1/4 cups Water Warm Water
  • 2 tbsp Oil Olive Oil

Instructions

  • Gather all your ingredients, measure everything then set aside.
  • In a small bowl add warm water, sugar and yeast. Allow to rest for at least five to ten minutes.
  • In the stand mixer, add flour, salt and olive oil, give the dry ingredients a quick mix using a whisk to get rid of any lumps.
  • Once your yeast looks creamy, pour the mixture into the bowl with the flour and mix on low using the dough hook.
  • Once the dough is fully incorporated, cover with plastic saran wrap and top with a clean kitchen towel. Allow the dough to rise for at least 60 minutes or doubled in size.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F and lightly grease your pizza pan with olive oil.
  • Once the dough has risen, give the dough a light punch to remove any air bubbles, remove it from the bowl divide it in half then place on a clean surface to roll out.
  • Roll the dough out onto a clean floured surface. You want your dough to be about 1/2 inch thick. Once you have your circle, pinch the edges to create a thick crust, place the dough on a circular cooking sheet then cover with a clean kitchen towel and allow the dough to rest for about ten minutes.
  • Add pizza sauce and your favorite topping and place into the oven to bake for 15-20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
