What Does Lactose Free Mean?
First and foremost, I bake using lactose free ingredients! These ingredients can include, butter, milk, cream cheese etc.
Contrary to what some may believe, lactose – free is not the same as dairy free. Lactose – free still contains milk, however, there is a certain component, I believe a type of sugar (I may be wrong) where the lactose is removed from dairy, making it lactose – free. Dairy free on the other hand, contains ZERO milk. Alternatives for dairy free are almond milk, oat milk, soy milk etc. You can learn more about the differences here.

Recipe At A Glance:
Eggs: You will need three eggs at room temperature.
Sugar: You will need one cup of granulated sugar.
Oil: You will need one cup of oil. I used Canola oil for this chocolate bundt cake recipe.
Flour: You will need one and a half cups of all purpose flour.
Cocoa Powder: 3/4 cups of cocoa powder will be needed. I used the Hershey brand.
Baking Powder: You will need 2 tsp.
Baking Soda: You will need 1 tsp.
Milk: 3/4 cups of milk will be needed. I used Fairlife lactose free 2% milk. Can’t go wrong with a little protein.
Salt: 1 tsp of salt.
Equipment Needed:
Bundt Pan: I used the Wilton bundt pan that I purchased from Walmart.
Spatula: For mixing.
Measuring Spoons and Measuring Cup: For accurate measurements.
Mixing Bowl: For the ingredients.
Small Bowl: For cracking your eggs.
Handheld Mixer: For mixing.
Whisk: For mixing the dry ingredients.
Step By Step Instructions:
Step One:
Preheat your oven to 350F
Gather all your ingredients, measure everything then set aside.
Grease your bundt pan and set aside.
Having room temperature ingredients such as eggs mix better with the batter.
Step Two:
In a bowl, add your flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, sugar and salt. Take your whisk and give the dry ingredients a quick mix to get rid of any lumps.
Step Three:
In the same bowl add your oil and milk then mix using the hand mixer.
Step Four:
In a small bowl crack each egg then pour those eggs into the bowl.
Cracking eggs into a separate bowl will avoid eggshell falling into your batter.
Add the eggs to your batter and mix using your hand mixer.
Step Five:
Using your spatula mix the batter scrapping the sides.
Pour your batter evenly into your bundt pan, giving the bundt pan a light slam on the counter to get rid of any air bubbles.
Step Six:
Place your bundt pan into the oven and bake on 350F for about 40-45 minutes.
You can check the readiness of your chocolate bundt cake by inserting a skewer into the batter. If the skewer comes out clean your cake is finished.
Step Seven:
Allow your cake to sit for ten minutes after pulling it out of the oven before inverting.
Add the chocolate ganache to your chocolate bundt cake once it has fully cooled.
Serve and enjoy!
