Step By Step Instructions:

Step One:

Gather all your ingredients!

Using a cutting board, grab one whole onion and start cutting it into thin slices then add the cut onions to a small plate.

Grab two cinnamon sticks, snap it in half and add it to the same plate as the onions.

Gather your cloves, cardamom, ginger and garlic, and masala powder and set aside.

Step Two:

In a bowl, add two cups of basmati rice and wash the rice under cold running water. Swish the rice around with your fingers to remove any starch and impurities. During this process the water will become cloudy.

You will know your rice is completely cleaned once the water is clear.

After rinsing, drain the water from the bowl. Allow the water to run off and continue to drain for a few minutes.

Set the rice aside.

Step Three:

In a clean bowl, add the beef and rinse under cold water. Allow the water to fully drain then set aside.

Step Four

Turn on your oven to medium – low heat. In an oven safe pot add some oil and allow the oil to heat.

Toss in ONE slice of onion, if the onion starts to sizzle, your oil is ready. Add the remaining onions, cardamom, cinnamon and clove to the pot and allow the onions to cook until lightly browned.

Stir the onions and spices occasionally.

Step Five:

Preheat the oven to 350F

Add beef to the pot and mix before adding the pulao masala and salt.

Mix the entire pot and allow to cook thoroughly.

Step Six:

Once the meat is cooked, add in the washed rice from earlier to the pot along with 4 cups of water and mix.

Step Seven:

Place the entire pot into the oven with the lid covering and bake for about 35-40 minutes.

Step Eight:

Grab a handful of cilantro and wash under cold water.

Using a clean cutting board, cut your cilantro into small pieces and garnish over your beef pulao once it is finally cooked.

Serve and enjoy!
