Football has started and my husband is ecstatic! Every Sunday, Monday AND Thursday he is wearing his favorite teams jersey, sitting on the couch, eyes glued to the t.v. and screaming football… FOOTBALL!!!
Snacking is his go-to during football, whether it be chips, nachos, wings you name it, he’s snacking on it, which gave me the perfect idea. Since wings are the perfect companion for any game day event, why not make homemade spicy baked wings.

Baking Powder: For crispy wings.

Cilantro: For garnishing.
Lime: zest and lime juice from one lime is required
Frank’s Buffalo Hot Sauce: For spice.
Equipment Needed:
Large Bowls: For Mixing ingredients.
Measuring Spoons: For measurements.
Measuring Cup: For measuring lactose free sour cream.
Baking Tray: For baking the wings.
Saran Wrap: For covering the wings.
Spatula: For mixing the ingredients.
Step By Step Instructions:
Step One:
In a large bowl, add sour cream, honey, garlic, and cayenne pepper. Mix together then set aside.
Step Two:
After washing and patting dry your wings toss them into a bowl and add baking powder.
Mix using your hands, coating ALL the wings with the baking powder.
Step Three:
Toss your wings into the bowl with your spices and mix using your hands, making sure to coat each and every wing with the sauce.
Cover the bowl with saran wrap and refrigerate for about 1-2 hrs. or overnight.
Step Four:
Preheat your oven to 400F
Add a small amount of oil to a baking sheet and layer parchment paper over top.
Give your wings a quick mix and add them to the baking tray.
Step Five:
Place the baking sheet into the oven and bake the wings for 35-40 minutes
Flip the wings after 15 minutes.
Step Six:
Wash your cilantro and begin slicing.
In a clean bowl, add Frank’s buffalo sauce and toss in cilantro with lime juice and lime zest.
Mix the bowl then set aside.
Step Seven:
After thirty minutes take your wings out of the oven and toss them into your cilantro and lime mix.
Step Eight:
Place the wings back onto the baking sheet and place back into the oven for another ten minutes.
Warning: these wings ARE spicy!

- 1 cup sour cream lactose free
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tbsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 tbsp. garlic
- 1 lime
- 1 handful cilantro
- 2 tsp baking powder
